North Haven E-Bike Tour

Let Maine Sport Outfitters take you to ANOTHER Island!

Join Maine Sport as our guides lead an e-bike tour to North Haven where we’ll pedal a New England island unlike anywhere else: formerly dedicated to farming and fishing, it’s one of Maine’s best-kept secrets. From the town pier, we’ll loop around the the island with coastal views that stretch across the Penobscot Bay from Mount Desert Island to the east and to the Camden Hills to the north.  As you traverse the island, you can't help but feel the echoes of its past mingling with the present. From the weathered fishing shacks dotting the shoreline to the grandeur of Victorian-era estates, North Haven's architecture reflects its diverse history and the resilience of its inhabitants. Originally inhabited by Native Americans, North Haven later became a haven for European settlers engaged in fishing and shipbuilding. Over the years, it evolved into a vibrant community deeply connected to its maritime heritage, evident in its historic lighthouses, waterfront villages, and maritime museums.

Tours begin in our Rockland store where Maine Guides will outfit you with your e-bike and bike helmet.  We’ll ride down to the Rockland ferry landing and roll our bikes onto the boat for the crossing to North Haven.  We’ll return on the 3:45 boat back to Rockland and pedal the few remaining blocks back to our Rockland store.
